These magnetic aluminium upper jaws are equipped with rubber clamping surfaces in which grooves have been made. These grooves not only provide more grip, but also the ability to clamp round or polygonal objects.
The magnets are milled into the back of these jaws and are made of iron oxide magnetic strips (iron oxide powder mixed with rubber). These magnetic strips have the advantage of not being brittle or brittle (unlike rare earth or neodymium magnets). As a result, these magnets can never lose small chips, which can then end up between your machine's clamp (or vise) and the upper jaw, preventing them from connecting properly.
The magnetic force of these iron oxide rubber band magnets is also such that the upper jaws are properly attracted to the clamp (or vise), without magnetizing your workpiece.
